First weekend of Mardi Gras 2007 great fun!

11 February 2007

It’s Sunday February 11th and the last few parades are still rolling down St. Charles Avenue in front of our historic home. The house was filled with quite a few repeat guests from Mardi Gras past, and some new comers to Carnival. A complete sell-out. The weather was just wonderful, 50’s in the evening & 60’s during the day.

If you could only see the smiling faces of these guests as they return from a day of parading, you would then understand how miuch fun Mardi Gras is for visitors to New Orleans. Its an experience like no other. Hundreds of decorated floats, costumed riders, marching bands, dance troups, Kings and Queens of each parade and of course, those coveted beads. Thousands of them.

If you have not been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans before, you should make plans to come on down. For now, we are just waitng for next week’s big bash of parades leading up to Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras of course.
