9th Annual Satchmo Club Strut-July 31, 2009

28 July 2009

The New Orleans Jazz Centennial Celebration is slated to bring back New Orleans’ much-loved summer tradition with the 9th Annual Satchmo Club Strut, the musical club crawl down Frenchmen Street on Friday, July 31, 2009. The “Strut” is a great way to start the weekend long Satchmo Summerfest produced by French Quarter Festivals Inc celebrating Louis Armstrong and jazz in all its forms. The Club Strut serves as both a fundraiser for non-profit jazz outreach programs and a promotional vehicle for the music community’s rebuilding efforts. There are two two levels of admission, general and VIP. General admission gets you access to all the clubs on Frenchmen St (except Snug Harbor) all night, with a multitude of outstanding New Orleans musicians playing in the spirit of Louis Armstrong. VIP admission gives you all that as well as access to the VIP balcony parties, featuring New Orleans top musicians in an intimate setting along with fantastic food and beverages from notable New Orleans eateries. VIP admission also gets you access to New Orleans premier jazz club, the legendary Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro, which is a limited seating venue. Wristbands are now available for pre-purchase with a credit card or paypal. Tickets will be sold at the ticket table for CASH ONLY beginning at 5pm on the day of the Strut, July 31st. VIP admission is limited so promoters advise purchasing early for best availability. The Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans has limited availibility for the weekend of July 31, so give them a call and check out the special deals. See you at the Strut!!
