Its Time to Move On-New Orleans is Back Big TIme

20 February 2008

With last weekend’s complete success for the NBA All Star game and the same for Mardi Gras, the BCS Bowl and the Sugar Bowl, most questions about “city readiness” and crime should have been answered.

We have received rave reviews from the media in recent weeks; this past weekend New Orleans was compared with the way Las Vegas handled last’s years basketball event. Apparently, there was no comparison. There were 60% less arrests here, police were out in numbers, the players raved about the restaurants and Bourbon Street and the crowds were just as robust, yet no one found crime to be a factor.

So now the proof is out there for all to see. What locals have been trying to communicate for months is on record. We’ve handled major events with huge crowds with no problem.  The beautiful and cultural Big Easy is a place to visit and enjoy, just like before the storm. Sure, we are still rebuilding the residential homes and some neighborhoods, but that does not have any effect on our tourists having a great time.

Come on down and see for yourself. New Orleans is back big time.
